Our story

IDIA College of Health and Development Studies was established by the International Development Institute – Africa (IDIA) in May 2012, at the Valley of Hope Centre in Siaya, and was registered by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Reg. No. MOHEST/PC/1857/012).

The College is registered as a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College under the TVET Act, 2013 (Reg. No. TVETA/PRIVATE/TVC/0017/2024). Since its founding it has produced graduates who continue to transform society in different capacities.

Our commitment

To educate and nurture a new generation of socially responsible, ethical and transformational servant leaders, managers and workers, equipped with the skills and attitudes to serve humanity in an increasingly integrated global environment.

Our foundation

IDIA College is founded on Christian principles that promote the generation and application of knowledge to societal transformation. Its character is demonstrated by a commitment to advancing positive knowledge, fostering positive learning and nurturing transformational leadership and sustainable development, hence our motto, Pro Scientia et Mutatio: For Knowledge and Change.

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2 (NIV)
