Overview

Community Health focuses on improving the health and wellbeing of communities through sustainable development practice. It examines how health, social, economic and environmental factors interact, and how communities can take charge of their own health outcomes.

You learn to assess community needs, design and deliver health promotion programmes, manage community health information systems and coordinate community health strategies, with practical experience through an industrial attachment.

Entry requirements

Diploma in Community Health

  • KCSE mean grade C− (minus); or
  • A Certificate Level 5 in Community Health; or
  • An equivalent qualification as determined by KNQA, and/or as guided by the relevant regulatory body.

Certificate in Community Health

  • KCSE mean grade D (plain); or
  • A Certificate Level 4 in Community Health or a related course; or
  • An equivalent qualification as determined by KNQA, and/or as guided by the relevant regulatory body.
